Description

Soft, smooth and supple skin in just a few minutes: That's what most drug masks promise. But what ingredients in such a moisturizer, we usually do not know exactly. One thing is certain: For this mask we only need turmeric, honey and yoghurt.

When was the last time you used a face mask? It's probably not that long ago, right? But do you actually know which ingredients are contained in such a beauty mask? Preservatives or allergenic pollutants that irritate our skin instead of protecting. We want to know exactly what we bring into contact with our skin, so we simply create our skin care ourselves - in a natural way. The key to beautiful skin and a radiant appearance: the Indian spice turmeric! The yellow power root from Asia is a real all-round talent: It strengthens our immune system, ensures well-functioning digestion and stimulates the metabolism, protects against Alzheimer's and improves our memory, but also ensures a radiant complexion and supple skin.

Yellow spice for the beauty

Turmeric has been considered an elixir of beautiful skin in India for decades. The golden yellow, ginger-like rhizome is also used to care for hair, teeth, and nails. Turmeric promotes blood circulation, has a decongestant and antibacterial effect and anti-inflammatory properties - perfect for sensitive skin! Another plus: The curcumin contained in turmeric catches cell-damaging and free radicals and can be used as a natural anti-aging agent.

Recipe for a turmeric mask

  • 1 teaspoon of honey

  • 1 teaspoon of yogurt or quark

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder

Put all the ingredients for the facial mask with turmeric in a small bowl and mix everything evenly. Then apply the mask on your face. Now let the skin care work for 10 to 20 minutes . Then wash with water and dry the face. For the freshness kick, you can still stir a little lemon juice under the mask. For sensitive skin, however, you should prefer to renounce vitamin C - the acid could irritate the skin.

Caution: The yellow dye Curcumin can stain and leave stains on clothing, towels or skin. After a turmeric mask can therefore remain in the face a slightly yellowish glow. But do not panic, after several washes he disappears again.

According to Indian tradition, the turmeric mask is made with ghee, which is clarified butter, and ground turmeric in the ratio 1: 1. The fat contained in the ghee makes especially dry and impure skin beautifully supple and soft.

Peeling against pimples and acne

Even a peel is lightning fast self-made and has a healing effect on blemished skin, pimples and acne. In India, chickpea flour is mixed with turmeric powder and ghee. For mixing, you can also use some water, milk or coconut oil.
