'Betoch' is simply the best Ethiopian sitcom ever aired, created and directed by Ashenafi Mahlet and produced by the collaborating of Tilahiun Gugsa Advertising and promotion PLC and Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC). The sitcom stars legend Tilahun Gugsa as Zeru Mola, Makda Hailu (Azalu), Gelila Resom (Mafi), Fekadu Fasil (Bezabh), Ashenafi Mahlet (Yebekal), Melat Tesfaye (Ereste), Nebret Gelaw (Eke) as a guard. The acting is amazing after watching a few episodes you stop referring to actors by their real names altogether, even if they appear in another movie. The characters are addictive, none are completely positive or negative. There never has been a sitcom that truly pictures life among the youths (twenty-something) and seniors as good as this show does. It is not just comedy it presents the episodes in such a way that one can truly identify with the situation they face so the audience has something to talk about in the coffee shops too. Even though the humor is universal but it mainly focuses on Ethiopian culture.
