How good are our cars in the endurance test over 100,000 kilometers? How To Cars shows the tops and flops: All cars that have gone through the endurance test, we have put together in a ranking

Are We reliable our cars are in everyday use? The How-To Cars endurance test goes to this question to the bottom. Within a period of one and a half to two years, the test cars will cover 100,000 kilometers. Every breakdown, every defect is recorded by the test drivers and ends up in the note. Likewise, the condition in which the vehicle is located after reaching the 100,000 kilometers. To assess this, the car is dismantled to the test end and examined by DEKRA experts for wear.

The MX-5 packs the 1

The youngest graduate of the endurance test is the Mazda MX-5 . Our conclusion after reaching the 100,000-kilometer mark: This roadster is surprisingly solid. The current MX-5 has everything on board to actually be more durable than the first generations. Bottom line, the Mazda conceded eight penalty points - makes a 1-. Which place the MX-5 achieved in the endurance test ranking is shown in the picture gallery(Picture 122 to 124). There we summarized all results of our previous endurance tests. There are nearly 50 cars since 2014. In a second picture gallery you will also find the test results of about 100 other vehicles that tested AUTO BILD between 2000 and 2014. Since these were evaluated with another test scheme, we have summarized them in their own ranking .

How to test How To Cars

The test car is spared nothing - stop-and-go traffic in the city is just as much a burden of stress as full-throttle stages on the highway trailer operation in the Alps. But the stressful everyday test is only one side of the endurance test. In addition, AUTO BILD also rates the technical condition of the test cars at the final examination. How carefully a car is designed and processed brings the dismantling to light: The vehicle is completely disassembled, every component is meticulously appraised. Cylinder tracks are measured, the most hidden cavity of the body is checked for rust damage by means of an endoscope. The car expert does not escape the slightest trace of wear. In addition, the everyday experiences of our test team are included in the final evaluation. The detailed criteria that lead to the final grade can be found in the table below.
