At the conference held at Mekelle University last Saturday and Sunday on the current political, social and economic issues of Ethiopia, Ato Bereket Semon presented the opening agenda concerning the recent nationalist extremism is seen in the country. Among the audiences, UTDS Public Relations Officer Ato Amdom Gebrselassie confronted Ato Bereket by pointing out that he couldn’t condemn the consequences of the system he had been part of and also played a major role. The audience members who were also members of TPLF interrupted his speech after he made this remark. During his interview with Mereja TV, Ato Amdom said that the actions of the cabinet members were below the class of renowned leaders and led to believe that TPLF’s ideology won’t be changing any time soon. He also outlined the irony of TPLF’s recent motto stating the rule of law must be executed properly and recommended further conferences with similar agendas have to be prepared exclusively for impartial parties
