The Ethiopian cinema industry is a recent phenomenon despite Ethiopia being the only African country to own script and history of ancient literary heritage. The theater scene bloomed far earlier than the film industry. Despite the increasing number of new generation filmmakers, the film industry still lacks features to satisfy standards. The film industry is constantly influenced by the political, social and economic times in Ethiopia. Even though untrained individuals, small production companies and small capital hold it back, the industry is pushing forward.
