The Egyptian reporter for Al-Hekaya Amir Adib has reported that the bolted construction of the GERD for the next four years is a blessing from God. Since the beginning of the construction in 2011, the project has been a conflicting subject between Ethiopia and Egypt. Due to the reprehensible construction of the project, many have been imprisoned and some have committed suicides. Egypt Independent has also reported Amir’s statement saying that the completion of GERD has been a pressing for Egypt and the recent drawn-out process is a gift from Allah. He urged the government to take advantage of the time and solve the inadequate water supply in Egypt. Considering the unfruitful diplomatic meeting held previously and the suicide of the Director of GERD last July, tension has risen.
