Students injured at Dire Dawa University
Description
Dire Dawa University has been in turmoil since Monday. Dr. Alemayehu Zewdie, Dire Dawa University’s International and Public Relations Officer, has told DW that the tension rose following the power outage caused in the students’ dormitory by unidentified individuals who had entered the compound. As a result, 6 students were injured from the conflict and the recent footage received by Mereja TV shows the police dispensing tear gas bombs in the campus grounds. The source of the conflicts is told to be likely of nationalist views.
