OLF’s militia has been conducting military operations in Oromia for a while despite the invitation for peaceful struggle from the region’s government. Even though the members have resisted the request, 23 members of the party in Werejareso, Northern Shewa gave in yesterday. Commanding Inspector Mengistu Ketema told the press that the members were in the armed struggle for up to 6 months to 2 years. They were actively operating between the valleys of Western and Northern Shewa zones. There has been strong cooperation with the zone police forces and the military to maintain peace and security. Additional measures will be taken to strengthen the collaboration.
